Davallia parvula is a type of epiphytic or lithophytic fern belongs to the family Davalliaceae. It is distributed in Sumatra, Banka, Lingga Archipelago, Singapore, Borneo and New Guinea. It was reported by Holttum that this fern exists in the ‘south of Malaya’ on old mossy mangrove trees during 1968. However, there are no specimens have been collected from Peninsular Malaysia.
The rhizome of Davallia parvula is measured from 0.5 to 1.2 mm in diameter without the scales. The stipes are dark brown. The lamina or the leaves are compound and finely divided into fine linear segments without obvious rachis. The sori are frequently single on a segment, at the forking point of veins (Nooteboom, 2013).
