Description

Impatiens glaricola is a perennial, glabrous herb. It is endemic to Peninsular Malaysia and restricted to damp limestone boulders. The leaves are spirally arranged and grow up to 100 cm tall. The flowers are solitary with purple colour. The species epithet is derived from two Latin words, glara means scree, and –icola means dwelling, which referring to its habitat. It is assessed provisionally as Critically Endangered because it is only known to occur to a single place and threatened by recreational activities (Kiew, 2016).
