Myopias etsukoae is a type of rare ant found in the primary forest in Sabah, Malaysia. It has a reddish-brown body with a deep metanotal groove. The worker ant measured at about 4.85-4.92mm in total length (which is measured from anterior margin of the head to tip of metasoma in stretched specimens, excluding sting). One of the characteristics that differentiate the worker ants from others is the posterior margin of the head which is almost straight. The species epithet is named for the work done by Ms. Etsuko Yamane (Jaitrong et al., 2020).
