Leptobrachella maura (Montane Slender Litter Frog) is a small and relatively stocky frog species in family Megophryidae. It is known only from montane forest at 1,850 m a.s.l. on Mount Kinabalu in Sabah (IUCN SSC Amphibian Specialist Group, 2018). The toes of L. maura are webbed only at the base. The back has many low, rounded lumps and slightly larger warts on the sides. Its colour is very dark brown or black and there is no visible pattern on the back. The Montane Slender Litter Frog is the only species in the genus that is uniformly dark brown on the underside of the head and hind limbs. The forelimb does not have contrasting light and dark colouration (Inger & Stuebing, 2005).
