Description

Begonia addrinii is a creeping herb, which is endemic to Sarawak. It can grow up to 15 cm long. The leaves are slightly asymmetrical, flattened onto the boulders, closely arranged with hairy texture and pale green on the above surface, and paler green on the lower surface. The male flowers are white and have four tepals with lemon yellow anthers, meanwhile, the female flowers are white, pinkish or whitish green with three unequal wings. It grows in the riparian forest at about 153 m a.s.l. on a thin layer of soil on sandstone boulders in an area with shade. The species epithet gets its name from the Park Ranger, Addrin anak Kemarau, who discovered this species initially (Julia & Kiew, 2016).
