Gazetted under the Fisheries Act 1985 (Establishment of Marine Parks Malaysia Order 2000). Individual areas reported include overlaps. True total area for Pulau Kuraman, Pulau Rusukan Besar and Pulau Rusukan Kecil Marine Parks is 9,288.3ha.
Size for individual marine parks is taken from the Department of Marine Parks Malaysia. As these values include overlapping areas, the true total protected area calculation for groups of islands will be taken from the Nautical Chart (source: Royal Malaysian Navy). Nautical Charts used were MAL 565, MAL 625, MAL 635, MAL 654 and MAL 664. Current name of the islands follows the changes made in the Establishment of Marine Parks Malaysia (Amendment) Order 2012 (P.U. (A) 260/2012).
