Description

Cleisostoma discolor is a monopodial and epiphytic plant flowering in April and May. Its stems are short and stout, while its leaves are fleshy, and has unequally bilobed apex with narrowed and toothed lobes. Several inflorescences arise from near the base of the stem at a time and are pendulous at about 22 cm long. This orchid has yellowish green with a purplish median band sepals and petals. Its dorsal sepal has a blunt tip and slightly curved backwards while its lateral sepals are larger with the tip slightly curved backwards. Its petals curved forwards and its lip with  spur of 5 mm long, is curved and blunt and has callous at the front side of the spur entrance. This species was found distributed in Deccan, Sikkim, Thailand, Indochina, Sumatra, Java and Peninsular Malaysia. In Perlis, this orchid was found at Bukit Pelarit.
