Description

Cookeina tricholoma is a type of cup fungus in the family Sarcoscyphaceae. Its size ranges between 8 and 25 mm. Compared to C. sulcipes, it has longer white hairs forming a conspicuous fringed around the cup edge. It has a central stipe that is attached to the woody structure or dead rotten branches and trunks. It is also brightly coloured from pinkish to orange and can be found in wet tropical forests.
