This fungus has wide cap, convex then convex-plane with a depressed centre, yellowish brown to pale snuff brown with pale butter-yellow patches, dry, smooth and ridged from the centre to the margin. It has thin, white and crisp flesh while its gills are champagne to cream coloured, distant, thick and forking at the margin, shallow and exuding a white sap when damaged. The stipe is pale cigar brown and this fungus has a faint and sweet fragrance when fresh. It can be found growing under various dipterocarps and it is also found in Malaysian lowland rainforests.
