Description

Tetramerista glabra is a large tree species that can reaches up to 1 m in diameter. It is distributed in Sumatra, Peninsular Malaysia and Borneo. This species prefers freshwater and peat swamp forests in Malaysia (Kedah, Perak, Selangor, Malacca, Terengganu, Pahang, Johor, Sabah and Sarawak).  It produces medium to heavy hardwood which is used for construction. Due to the population reduction caused by habitat degradation, T. glabra is categorized as Vulnerable (Yong et al., 2011).
