Description

Arundina graminifolia is an orchid with variation colour of flowers from pure white, light pink to bright purple. The flowers are usually pink and rarely white while its lip is darker with a yellow blotch. The size of the flowers are also varies between localities. This species can be cultivated very easily and flowering occurs the whole year round. In Peninsular Malaysia, A. graminifolia or Bamboo Orchid is found in lowland forests and up to 600 m on the hills. This species loves the sun and is known to be found in cleared, well-drained, dry, and sandy ground of peat swamp forest in Pahang, Johore and Perak.
