Description

Dendrobium angustifolium is an orchid species which flowering in January. This orchid can be found in Sumatra, Vietnam, Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia and Java. In Peninsular Malaysia, this species is widespread from Perlis to Johor in the lowlands from sea level to hill forest (Ong et al., 2007). This species makes a beautiful ornamental as it blooms with many flowers at a time and last at least a week under shade. Its rhizomes are thin, much branched and its stems are branching, and plants formed into tufts. The pseudobulbs of this species are yellowish and not flattened. Its leaves are narrow lanceolate, thick and bilobed apex. The flowers of this species are greenish yellow outside, yellow inside and it has pinkish red stripes lip.
