Faunis gracilis, also known as Graceful Faun is a species of butterfly with a wingspan of about 3.0 cm long (Kirton, 2014). It is smaller, more elegant, and yellower than other fauns especially at the beneath. The Graceful Faun has a special feature which its hindwings have two ringed black ocelli with white-centred. Females are larger than males. This species is distributed from South Thailand, Sumatra, Peninsular Malaysia and Borneo. It inhabits inland forest up to submontane elevations (Corbet & Pendelbury, 1978).
