Description

Euploea mulciber, also known as Striped Blue Crow is a species of butterfly with a wingspan about 5 cm long. The male upperside is black-brown with a blue-glazed forewing and spotted bluish white while the underside is lighter brown with short, buff streaks and spots. The female is paler than male with more striking bluish-white forewing spots and with long buff hindwing streaks (Kirton, 2014). This species is widely distributed from India to South China, through Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore, Sumatra, Java, Borneo and the Philippines. It inhabits primary and disturbed forest at all elevations (Kirton, 2014).
