Leptobrachella parva, a small frog from the Megophryidae family is commonly known as the Rough-sided Dwarf Litter Frog. This frog species is endemic to Borneo and is native to Malaysia occurring in a wide area of Sabah and northern parts of Sarawak. This frog can be found living in hilly forests where clear, medium to large streams with gravel or rock-bottomed exist and at an elevational range of 150 to 1,000 m above sea level (IUCN SSC Amphibian Specialist Group, 2018).
Both male and female of the L. parva can grow to approximately 20 mm. The skin on its back is smooth while the belly is dark and the sides have small rounded and flat, scattered glands. The general coloration and markings are similar to L. baluensis (Kinabalu Dwarf Litter Frog), which is brown or black but the sides of L. parva lacks large black spots, though there may be small black dots. There is no distinct black streak over its eardrum, its foot lacks webbing and has pointed toe and fingertips (Inger & Stuebing, 2005).
