Description
This frog species from the Rhacophoridae family is a medium to large-sized tree frog with a broad head. The females grow to be larger than the males with a snout to vent length measurement ranging from 76-80 mm in females and 59-66mm in males. In the Ulu Muda Forest Reserve, this species was found dwelling in high canopy. This treefrog's body is green overall with reticulated markings of black, blue and yellow on its sides while its throat, chest, and belly are pure white. It has complete webbing of the hands and feet and is locally known as black-webbed treefrog due to its black webbing, speckled with blue and golden yellow. Its fingers are fully webbed except for the first finger which is shorter than its second. This species also has small inner metatarsal tubercle and no outer tubercle. As a tree canopy dwelling frog, this species occasionally descends to breed around pools on the forest floor. Besides Malaysia, the known distribution of this species includes southern Thailand and Indonesia (Sumatra and Java).
