Kerivoula minuta or commonly known as the Least Wooly Bat is the smallest bat in Malaysia. It only weighs between 2 to 3 g, which is less than a 50 cent coin. This tiny insectivorous bat could fit right in the palm of your hands. It is commonly found in the understorey of lowland and upper hill dipterocarp forests throughout Borneo and Peninsular Malaysia. Due to their decreasing population trend owing to habitat loss, this species is categorised as Near Threatened (NT) by the IUCN Red List.
