Miniopterus medius is known commonly as medium bent-winged bat. Its forearm length is around 41-42 mm. When compare in size, it is the intermediate between the common bent-winged bats, M. schreibersi and M. australis. The skull is larger than the small bent-winged bat, M. pusillius. The colour from the shoulder to the breast is more grey-brown, while the abdomen is greyer. This species roosts in caves and it forages in open area. It can be found in Thailand, Malaysia, Java, New Guinea and Borneo.
