Description
Aethopyga saturata is a species of bird in the Nectariniidae family. It is commonly known as the Black-throated Sunbird or Kelicap Gunong in Malay. This species can be found in hill and montane forests above 500 m above sea level, in understoreys and forest edges. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and moist montane forests.
The appearance of male Black-throated Sunbird is dark overall, with yellow underparts and rump, bright iridescent purplish-blue crown, nape and tail with elongated central feathers, and dark maroon back and wings. The female has olive-green plumages with greyish throat, yellow colour below, and yellow rump.
