Description

Chrysococcyx minutillus or commonly known as Little Bronze-cuckoo is a species of bird that belongs to the family Cuculidae. Its size can reach up to 16 cm in length. The Little Bronze-cuckoo has dark olive upperparts, white face and underparts that are heavily barred with brown. It can be found in various types of habitats such as forest edges, plantations and rural gardens. The mangroves and coastal scrub areas are more preferred and particularly good places to see this bird where it can be quite approachable. This species is a parasitic bird and in the Malay Peninsula seems to prefer the Flyeater as a host. There are also many reports of this little warbler feeding the young Malayan Bronze Cuckoos (Strange & Jeyarajasingam, 1993).
