The head of Crab-eating Mangrove Snake is rounded and indistinct; the lower jaw is deeply countersunk. The stout cylindrical body bears smooth scales. The dorsum part of the body may be grey, brown or purplish-black, with or without dark spots which pass on the yellowish-white belly. It preys on small fish, crabs and mud lobsters (Das, 2010).
