Cisticola juncidis is a species of bird commonly known as the Fan-tailed Warbler. It is common in both open and seasonally flooded grassland, grassy wetlands with little or no drainage and a variety of man-made habitats, including croplands, golf courses and gardens. This species feeds on insects, such as mantis, dragonflies, moths, but mostly grasshoppers. It is also known to consume spiders as well as snails.

The Fan-tailed Warbler has buffy brown crown, coat and back with broadly black streaked (Strange & Jeyarajasingam, 1993). The coat and the sides of the neck are more reddish and less black marked. The lores are creamy or whitish while the eye rings are pale but well defined and its iris is nut or yellowish-brown. The bright cheeks of this warbler contrast with its dark brown ear coverts. The chin, the throat, the upper parts of the chest and the belly form a whole creamy whitish. The legs are pink. The juveniles of Fan-tailed Warbler are similar to the adults but all patterns and borders are less sharp or narrower.
