Taxonomy

The taxonomic status is pending for approval

Description

Previously Cyornis sumatrensis is considered as the Cyornis tickelliae, after some taxonomic review, the latter only exist in India to Southwest China, north Myanmar, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. In 2019, the taxonomic review stated that Cyornis sumatrensis sumatrensis exists in Thai-Malay Peninsula and northeastern Sumatra (Avibase 2020)
