Dicrurus aeneus, also known as Bronzed Drongo or Cecawi tembaga in Malay is a small-sized bird measuring around 23 cm in length (Jeyarajasingam & Pearson, 2012). It can easily be identified by black plumages all over the body, bluish metallic sheen on its breast and a deeply forked tail.
This drongo is widely distributed throughout the Oriental region ranging from India to Southern China, Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra and Java where it can be seen in lowland and lower montane forest of Malaysia (Jeyarajasingam & Pearson, 2012; Phillipps, 2014). It also prefers disturbed forest with plenty of bamboo grooves, so it can launch itself into the air to catch flying insects (Strange & Jeyarajasingam, 1993). Its diet is mainly consists of insects such as flies, Hymenoptera and Lepidoptera (Rocamora & Yeatman-Berthelot, 2020).
