Description
Slaty-backed forktail (Enicurus schistaceus) is a bird species belonging to the Muscicapidae family. It is found in the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia, ranging across Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, India, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, and Vietnam. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.
This beautiful black and white stream bird with long tail feed on small aquatic and water-associated invertebrates. It has a black head and upperparts, white eyebrows and underparts, deeply forked black tail with white edges and tips and dull pink legs.
