Erythrura prasina or the pin-tailed parrotfinch is a common species of estrildid finch found in Malaysia, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Burma, and Thailand. It is found in subtropical or tropical in both montane and lowland moist forest and is also found in bamboo thickets and rice plantations.

The males of pin-tailed parrotfinch have a bright blue mask covering its forehead, face and cheeks extending down its throat, grassy green back and wings; black lores and bill; orange-yellow flanks and under tail coverts with a red belly, and bright red rump, upper tail coverts and long central tail feathers. The females have shorter tail and mutes in colour compares to the males. It lacks much of the blue colour on the face and any red colouring underside. The juveniles are similar to the females but instead have dull greenish underparts, dull orange-red tail and an olive rump.
