Orthotomus sutorius, also known as Common Tailorbird is a small bird with a long tail often held upright. It can be found singly or in pairs, usually low in the undergrowth or trees sometimes hopping on the ground (Jeyarajasingam & Pearson, 2012).
The male Common Tailorbird has bright olive-green upperparts, paler and creamy buff underparts, rufous tights, short and rounded wings, rufous crown with a greyish face, black patches on the neck, long and down-curved bill, pale brown eyes and pinkish legs. Both sexes are similar, but the male has long central tail feathers in breeding plumage, and the female has less rufous on its forehead. This species is always active and flicks its tail continuously, often erect. It feeds mainly on insects, adults and larvae. It also consumes small fruits, berries, some nectar and tiny seeds.
