Description
Picus viridanus commonly known as the streak-breasted woodpecker is a large-sized woodpecker measuring up to 30 cm in length. It has greenish throat with dark streaks, greenish breast with whitish scaling, black malar stripe and olive green upper tail covert. The distribution of this species is in Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand and Malay Peninsula found living in the forests, the forest edges, overgrown plantations, coastal scrubs and mangroves. Commonly, this woodpecker is either solitary or in pairs.
