Taxonomy

Description

Pluvialis fulva, also known as Pacific golden plover is a species of bird that belongs to the family Charadriidae. It can be found commonly on short grassland, rice fields, and muddy coasts. It occurs throughout most of Asia (Davinson, 1995).

On the breeding season, the species’ upperparts become brighter, with gold and black spots on the crown, and back of the wings. The face, neck and underparts are black, with white band running from the forehead over brow down sides of the breast to the flanks. Meanwhile, the juvenile is quite similar to the adult, except some black plumages underneath (Davinson, 1995).
