Largetooth sawfish (Pristis pristis) is a type of sawfish in the family Pristidae. The population in Borneo is estimated to be severely diminished (Last et al., 2010). Fishermen and villagers in Sabah reported abundant sawfish in the 1970s, then a severe decline in the 1980s, with extremely limited catches since then (Manjaji, 2002). The Kinabatangan River had its last documented record in 1996 (Manjaji-Matsumoto pers. comm., 2012).
