Xylaria hypoxylon is a species of fungus, commonly known as candlesnuff or candlestick fungus (Izzauddin et al., 2019). It has an elongated black branches with antler-like white tips and tough flesh fruiting body. This fungus is distributed worldwide where it typically grows in clusters on decaying hardwood causing root rot in the tree.
