Description

Commonly known as Rhomboid Toothpony and has deep, rhomboid and strongly body in adults while oblong in juveniles; dorsal and ventral profiles similarly convex; mouth protruding forwards and not downwards with distinct canine teeth on both jaws; pelvic-fin tips not reaching to origin of anal fin when appressed and breast completely naked. Its body is bluish silver dorsally and brilliant silvery-white ventrally and yellowish distally anal fin. This fish usually found in sandy or muddy bottoms in coastal and brackish waters.
