Disc for Whitespotted Whipray is quadrangular; long tail and no skin folds on tail; widely spaced and granular denticles on central disc that absent in small juveniles. The colour of disc with numerous white spots dorsally; white ventrally; tail with alternating light and dark bands that rarely faint. The maximum size is 85 cm disc width. It feeds primarily on small bottom crustaceans, but also small fishes.
