Description

Barramundi has moderately deep, elongate and compressed body; dorsal profile of head concave anteriorly; snout and jaws pointed; anterior and posterior nostrils close together near eye; mouth large; dorsal fin deeply incised before last dorsal-fin spine; 3rd anal fin spine longest and rounded caudal fin. It has brown to golden eyes while juveniles has brown to grayish brown with 3 white stripes on head and scattered white patches on body sizes. This fish can be found in coastal marine and estuarine waters and feeds om fishes and some crustaceans.
