Description

Ochreband Goatfish has moderately elongate and slender body; chin with 2 barbels; small mouth; no scales on side of snout; 10-11 scales along dorsal edge of caudal peduncle and forked of caudal fin. Its body is light reddish-brown dorsally and silvery white ventrally; a yellow stripe on body side from eye to caudal peduncle; brownish-yellow caudal fin with dusky lower lobe; pale yellow pectoral fin; yellowish pelvic and anal fins; yellow barbels and pale peritoneum. This species is found in mud or salty sand substrata at depth of 3 to 20 m.
