Description

Acampe rigida is a monopodial and lithophytic orchid, usually flowering in September and October. This species is fragrant and has yellow flowers with crimson stripes and yellow anther. Its dorsal sepal is incurved, broadly oval and blunt apex while its lateral sepals are broadly oval with a notched tip. Its rachis measures about 7 cm long and is green with tiny dark purple spots and many-flowered. Its peduncle is about 5 cm long and is green with tiny purple spots. The inflorescences of this species are axillary and short at about 12 cm long.  The distribution of this species can be found in Northwestern Himalaya, Ceylon, India, China and Peninsular Malaysia. In Malaysia, this species has been recorded to be found at Gunung Perlis, Perlis.
