Description

Aerides odorata is a monopodial and lithophytic orchid, usually flowering in June. This species is strongly fragrant and has spirally arranged white with purple flushed flowers. The sepals are broadly oval and are white with purple blotches and blunt apex while the petals have purple blotches at the tip. This species’ lip extends to a spur horn-liked and is white with purple markings and green end. The distribution of A. odorata can be found in India, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia and Peninsular Malaysia. 

In Malaysia, this species has been recorded to be found at Bukit Merah, Perlis.
