Asplenium merapohense is a lithophyte fern endemic to the limestone hills in Peninsular Malaysia. The species epithet is derived from the type locality it was found. The rhizome can grow up to 2 cm long. The fronds are tufted and quite close together while the sori are elongate and embedded on acroscopic veins. The spores are ellipsoid in shape. This species was accessed as Critically Endangered due to its small population and threatened by the quarrying activities near its habitat (Jaman et al., 2017).
