Calanthe triplicata is one of the most popular ornamental species usually flowering from November to January. This orchid blooms without season if it is kept in a moist, semi-shaded area. This species has flowers that are usually white and have a warty patch of yellow or red on its lip. The leaves of this orchid are dark green, elliptic, acuminate and glabrous above, pubescent beneath while its peduncle has three spaced out sheaths and its rachis has many flowers counting up to 35 flowers while its floral bracts are broad at the base. The distribution of this species occurs in India to Indonesia and to the Pacific Island.
