Description

Vatica pauciflora or known as Resak Laru is a large tree species which is native in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore. It can grow up to 30 m in height. This species may be found in lowland dipterocarp forests near swamps and streams (Chua et al., 2010). Within Malaysia, this species is assessed as Near Threatened (NT) (Chua et al., 2010) due to its threatened by deforestation, coastal development and agricultural expansions.
