Description

The disc of Blotched Fantail Stingray is circular with relatively short tail, becoming much more slender beyond sting; long, deep ventral skin fold on tail, extending to tail tip and dorsal surface almost smooth. The disc colour is dark with white blotches and mottling with tail uniform black posterior to sting. Maximum size this fish is 180 cm disc width. This ray eats on bottom bivalves, crustaceans and small fishes.
