Description
The green-backed flycatcher (Ficedula elisae) is a bird belonging to the family Muscicapidae. It can be found in deciduous woodlands, primary forests, secondary forests and scrubs, mangroves and city parks. It prefers the lower storey and perches that are hidden by thick foliages and twigs.
The male of this species has olive green crown and upperparts, bright yellow eyebrows and underparts, greyish black wings with a white patch on both wings and a black tail. The female has the same appearance as male but is duller and has brownish wings and tail, and lack the bright yellow eyebrows. Its diet includes insects and small caterpillars.
