The given variable is not an array and contains a null value.
Measuring only 10 cm in length, the Pygmy Blue Flycatcher or Sambar Biru Kecil in Malay (Ismail, 1981) is the Malaysia’s smallest flycatcher that inhabits the lower and middle storey of montane forest. It is widely distributed in the Oriental region, ranging from the Himalayas to the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra and Borneo (Jeyarajasingam & Pearson, 2012; Phillipps, 2014).
The male Pygmy Blue Flycatcher has bright blue upperparts with shining blue forecrown, rufous pale underparts and whitish at the centre of belly. Whereas the female can be differentiated by olive-brown upperparts, white underparts with rufous tinge on breast, throat and belly. This bird has a unique habit of down-flicking the wings and tail-cocking vertically when excited, foraging or facing intruders (Strange & Jeyarajasingam, 1993; Jeyarajasingam & Pearson, 2012).
