Description

Pteropus tokudae was endemic to Guam and it was hunted locally as a food source. The last being seen is during the late 1970s (IUCN, 2008). The introduction of the predatory Brown Tree Snake (Boiga irregularis) to Guam possibly contributed to the extinction of this species.
