Bengal Monitor is characterized by its brown base colour with many small yellow spots. It habitats occurs in wide range which is from scrub desert to rainforest, yet it is most closely linked to dry and open forests. It shelters in cavities such as hollow trees or in burrows dug in soil banks at night while it is active during the day. Females lay a single clutch of about 20 eggs early in the rainy season and hatchlings emerge several months later.
