Description
Erpornis zantholeuca also known as the White-bellied epornis, is a species of birds belongs to the Timaliidae family. It is the only member of the genus Erpornis in the Babblers family. This bird has a greenish yellow upperpart, yellow undertail coverts as well as white throat, breast and belly. It is widely spread in the Oriental region which can be found in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam (BirdLife International, 2016). In Malaysia, this species inhabits the lowland rainforest up to lower montane forest (Strange & Jeyarajasingam, 1993; Phillipps, 2014). It often moves in small groups foraging for tiny insects, small berries and seeds.
