Description
Cyornis umbratilis is a bird species belonging to the Muscicapidae family. Compared to brown-chested Jungle-flycatcher, the white throat of this bird is sharply demarcated from grey breast band (Phillipps, 2014). The bill is all black. This species is native and found in Malaysia, Brunei, Thailand and Indonesia and can be found in lowland primary and secondary broad-leaved forest, coastal peat swamp forest, Melanorrhoea heath forest as well as overgrown rubber plantations up to 1,160 m. Extensive loss of lowland forest in South-East Asia has made this species experience a moderately rapid decline. Therefore, it is listed by IUCN Red List as Near Threatened.
