Psilopogon duvaucelii is a small, green barbet measuring up to 18 cm in length. It is commonly known as the black-eared barbet. It has blue crown and throat with a black band between its throat and breast. Besides, it has red marking above and below the ear coverts. It feeds on fruits and insects.
This species is distributed in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand and can be found in primary forest and edges in lowlands and foothills. It is quite common and suspected to be declining in population. It feeds on fruits and insects.
