Kurixalus appendiculatus (Frilled Tree Frog) is a small tree frog species of lowland freshwater swamp forests. It has a triangular head with an almost conical tip to the snout in males but in females the snout has an enlarged conical projection (Inger & Stuebing, 2005). The eyes of this frog are large, the iris horizontal and its tympanum is distinct. The above skin is smooth and finely granular on belly while the discs of toes are smaller than those of outer fingers. This species can reach about 45 - 50 mm in size. It inhabits primary hill forests, peat swamps forest and secondary growth in swampy areas. In Ulu Muda Forest Reserve, the Frilled Tree Frog can be found in bushes or small trees near rivers. It is distributed in Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, India, Malaysia and Phillippines (Diesmos et al., 2004).
