Rhyticeros subruficollis or more commonly known as Plain-pouched Hornbill, belongs to the family Bucerotidae. This hornbill can grow up to 89 cm in length. It has a yellow bill and a casque. The male is quite similar to Wreathed Hornbill, but the former species lack black band on the yellow gular pouch, and a shorter bill without corrugations. Meanwhile, the female is quite similar to the male except for the black head and neck, and the blue gular pouch did not have black band. It inhabits primary and logged forests from lowlands to 900 m (Lim et al., 2020). This hornbill is distributed in Malaysia, Myanmar and Thailand (Birdlife International, 2017).
